Hi,

I am not a doctor but as I had a squint in my left eye since birth so I have lots of informaiton and I think that I can help you.

I am sure the doctor can further explain and correct me if required.

Surgery can be done at any age. I had my surgery done at 25. This surgery will align both of your eyes and the squint will be removed. The problem due to which the vision is affected is that the lack of binocular vision. After surgery if the binoclar vision is resoted your visoin will not be further deterioted. The lost visoin can never be restored in any surgery.
The purpose of the surgery in your case will be as :
(1) To align both of the eyes ( i.e. to remove the squint )
(2) To restore the binoclar vison ( if you lack it)
(3) To decrease the risk of further damage to your vision.
Etc.

The squint surgery is very safe. There is no question of damage to your other eye as it will not be touched.

If you wan futher info from me either PM me or reply here or send me mail at
[email protected]

as I have undergone through a squint surgery so I will be able to guide you as well.

Thanks.
