Dear Mr. Mirza
Thanks for querry and showing interest in Al-Shifa Trust. Kindly accept apologies for late answer. The symptomatoloy you have given about your mother suggests that she has diabetes induced nerve paralysis which leads to weakening of some of the eye muscles leading to misalignment. In these patients, we first watch for some time to allow for natural recovery. However, if it persists then we conduct orthoptic assessment and if the patient feels uncomfortable due to double vision or cosmetic concerns, then surgical or optical measures can be undertaken. You are welcome to come to Al-Shifa. If you are based in UK, then such treatment is very much available over there. However, if you plan to come to us, we are open 6 days a week from 0800 to 1230 hours daily for patients.
Best of regards

Dear Sir
Thank you for your reply. My mother may be travelling to Pakistan soon so i was thinking that she can have the possible treatment there if she wishes.
Please kindly confirm whether her normal eye condition can be re-stored and approximately what time scale we are looking at. Will she have to have a surgery? We would like to plan accordingly.
Kind Regards

Dear Mr. Mirza
It is difficult to forecast the results of treatment. The type of treatment can be decided only once we see your mother. Let her consult at Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Rawalpindi from 4pm to 6pm. All the relevant consultants will be available to help her.
Best of regards
Dr. Tayyab |
