The main objectives are to train and expand the manpower pool in the country in various fields of ophthalmology, capable of providing state of the art eye care at primary, secondary and tertiary levels. 
Following courses are conducted at the institute for doctors

  • Fellowship in Ophthalmology - 4 years residency program leading to a Fellowship of the College of Physician and Surgeons (FCPS) of Pakistan.

  • Masters in Surgery (Ophthalmology) - 3 years residency program leading to a Masters in Surgery (MS Ophthalmology) of Quaid - a - Azam University.

  • Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine & Surgery - 2 years residency leading to a Diploma in Ophthalmology (DOMS) of Quaid - a - Azam University.

  • Cornea Refractive Surgery
1 year course for FCPS/Equivalent.
  • Vitreo Retina
1 years course for FCPS/Equivalent
  • Pediatric Ophthalmology
1 year course for FCPS/Equivalent

Short Training Courses

  • Micro Surgery
2 week duration for Ophthalmologists
  • Ultrasound / Biometry
1 week duration course for ophthalmologists
  • F.F.A. Course
1 week duration course for ophthalmologists
